CANSI Instructor Courses

Interested in developing your cross-country skiing skills and sharing your passion for the sport with others? Becoming a CANSI-certified instructor is a rewarding way to improve your own skiing, learn effective teaching techniques, and contribute to the growth of cross-country skiing in our community.

The Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and advancing cross-country and telemark skiing in Canada through the training, development, and certification of ski instructors. CANSI's nationally recognized teaching system helps instructors deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality learning experiences.

We are pleased to offer CANSI instructor training courses at the Whitehorse Nordic Centre.

Course Schedule

CANSI Refresher — December 5, 2026 (1 day)
CANSI Level 2 & 3 Prep — December 6, 2026 (1 day)
CANSI Level 1 — January 8, 9, 10, 2027 (3 days)
CANSI Level 2 — February 19-23, 2027 (4 days)

Teaching at the Whitehorse Nordic Centre

The Whitehorse Nordic Centre welcomes qualified private instructors on its trail network. CANSI instructors in good standing may be eligible to offer private lessons to individuals and groups on Nordic Centre trails.

Not sure about teaching privately?

If you'd like to share your passion for cross-country skiing but are not interested in offering private lessons, consider joining our Adult Programs volunteer instructor team. Volunteer instructors help deliver Nordic Centre programs while gaining valuable teaching experience and supporting the local ski community.
