AirNorth
Challenge

February at the Nordic Centre

Celebrate the return of the light and add a fun twist to your winter skiing! Throughout the entire month of February, the Air North Challenge invites skiers of all ages and abilities to explore Whitehorse Nordic's trail network by searching for trail-side orienteering controls for a chance to win great prizes.

No racing, no pressure, and no previous orienteering experience required—just ski, explore, and discover new trails at your own pace.

What is the Air North Challenge?

Unlike traditional orienteering, you do not need to use a map or navigate off-trail. Controls are placed directly along ski trails—you simply ski different trails, spot the control markers, and punch your card.

For this challenge:

  • Orienteering controls are placed along the Nordic Centre ski trails.

  • Each control has a letter and a small punch attached to it.

  • Your goal is to ski out, find the correct controls for your chosen challenge, and punch your card at each one.

Once your card is complete, return it to the ski chalet to be validated and entered into the prize draw.

No racing. No timers. Just explore at your own pace.

How to Participate

  1. Visit the Whitehorse Nordic Centre chalet to register.

  2. Choose your challenge level.

  3. Receive a laminated challenge card (1–3 cards depending on level).

  4. Ski the trails, find the matching controls, and punch your card.

  5. When your card is full, drop it off at the chalet front desk.

  6. You’re entered to win!

Deadline to return completed cards:
March 1 at 6:00 pm
